Update from the Mwanzo foundation

We hope to achieve great things again as a foundation in 2026. We had already been working on improving fire safety at The Ark. In January, we strengthened the safety measures at The Ark Children's Home by installing fire safety equipment provided by the Kiambu County Fire Service.

The installation included fire extinguishers and safety instructions to meet essential safety standards for child care institutions. Your support, among other things, has increased the safety and protection of every child in their care. 

As a foundation, we are working to improve ourselves. We are collaborating with Jouw Digitale Huis. We are busy improving the website and setting up a monthly newsletter. It is good that the Ark's communications team is also involved in this process. They also have a monthly newsletter that they want to optimise. We would also like to set up a social media platform. The Ark in Kenya will also be involved in this. When we as a foundation have more tasks, we need more hands on deck. That is why we are actively expanding our team of volunteers.

Finally, we have made a promotional video. This video shows images of the Ark and explains exactly what we do as a foundation to support children and families in Kenya. 

At the end of February, Clements and Martijn will visit Kenya again. We will continue to build our network of local entrepreneurs and we will continue the workshops. Practical matters will also be arranged. A report on this will follow in the next newsletter.
